Eragon | Christopher Paolini

This book is kind of like the Hobbit and Dragon Orb, with How to Train Your Dragon elements, but better than all three. In this book Eragon- a young boy is hunting in the mountains- The Spine, when he finds a dragon egg. After raising it for a while, his farm is attacked, killing his uncle. Eragon goes off on a quest for revenge with his dragon Saphira and Brom, the local storyteller. This book is great in the way how there are so many stories, and all of the characters who are focused on have fully fleshed out backstories, or seem to anyway. This novel has many aspects and elements- magic, romance, battles, betrayal, and even a werecat! Fans of the Hobbit, Dragon Orb and How to Train Your Dragon should try this out.

Like the book before- Oliver, this is another funny, and heart-warming tale, that is a pleasure to read. Based after the events of Oliver, Charlie is a young cat, who has to go on holiday with his family who are in a bit of a mess. Charlie has to encounter various threats and challenges, such as seagulls, other cats, and the vet. Again this book really benefits, having it from the cat's perspective, which makes it more interesting and fun. Fans of other cat books will most likely enjoy this. This is a great, funny book about cats, living like humans (I would have put a cat pun here, but I cannot think of one). Stanley Smartpants is a cat-detective, who is trying to solve the mackerel robberies, a series of robberies that always have a mackerel at the crime scene. This book is really amusing how it puts a twist on human things, and renames them cattish names, such as 'Catdonalds' or 'The Scissor Cats' or 'Leonardo de Catrio'!
